2016 Summer Camp Series

Fueling Your Engine -- July 18 - 22, 9am -12:30pm The emphasis of camp for younger children, K-3, was on connecting with our environment through gardening, cooking and creating art with materials found in nature. We spent time in the garden connecting with the outdoors, celebrating the VT Harvest of the Month- Berries, and collecting different plants to do botanical prints on paper and fabric. Hanna Jenkins led the adventures.

On Your Mark, Get Set…Read -- July 25 - 29, 9am - 12:30pm This camp for 2nd-5th graders focused on outdoor adventures, art and music, and “stuff like that”.  Andy Loughney, returning for his third year, brought along his guitar.

Stage and Stream -- August 15 - 19, 9am - 12:30pm This camp for 5th-8th graders began each day with theatre games and workshops, improvs, and sketches on the stage at the Grange. Afternoons provided plenty of outdoor time in the woods and stream with opportunities for journaling, literature, and writing. The instructors were New England Youth Theatre “alumni” home from college for the summer, who taught similar classes at NEYT. Library staff and parent volunteers were part of the team.
